| Description: | The coal mines of France are idle as 200,000 workers defy orders from President Charles DeGaulle to return to their jobs. After a hard winter coal is in short supply and the strike is aggravating this. DeGaulle threatened the minors with server penalties - heavy fines and imprisonment and the strikers expressed outrage demanding a shorter workweek and a pay boost.
