| Description: | In Algeria mass crowds line the route of DeGaulle who returned who returned to power as a result of the crisis they figured with their near rebellion. Not all of the hopes of the 100 million Frenchmen were realized when DeGaulle received his six month blank check from the assembly. But the personal prestige of the General is amazing. The crowd is still with him in spite of his appointments of moderates to his cabinet. His tour to win support for his program is triumphal under his symbol of the Cross of Loraine. Now is the moment many hope that will signal a start of a solution to France's 3 1/2 year old Algerian struggle with Moslem Nationalist. DeGaulle's plan integration with Algerians 9 million Moslems with 1 million French has full political input greeted by the colonials than less than enthusiasm. Later Moslem extremist denounced it as un-acceptable. But DeGaulle's personal popularity is shown everywhere on his tour, is enough to establish government power. The Committee of Public Safety is ordered to disband, DeGaulle himself, will act as Minister for Algeria. First step for achieving stability for France is achieved.
