Beijing, China People marching up road (toward camera) waving banners in Chinese (many of the signs are for army recruiting- -"join the army & save the country" etc. Crowd w/ banners in front of large building. Man on platform making a speech; many others stand on platform behind him; people below waving their hats. NOTE: Li Yuan-Hung was vice-president of the new Chinese Republic under Yuan Shih-k'ai; and assumed leadership after the latter's death in 1916. He was forced out the next year; again became pres. in 1922 and was again forced out in 1923. | |
