| Description: | DISC JOCKEY Shots of disc jockeys are work in a radio station. American Radio c. 1972. Shots of 3 different studios and air personalities. Various good close shots of Disc Jockey In radio studio sitting at the control board. CUs looking over shoulder as he turns knobs, puts a cartridge in the cart machine to cue it up, keeps written logs, cues up a 45 rpm record, plays the cart, talks into microphone, etc. He has a sort of shag haircut, moustache and wire-rim glasses. very 70s. A different DJ in a more cramped and still more ancient looking studio. He has a bunch of carts and only one turntable so he must have to switch between records and carts, but he also has telephones down beside his seat. He dials and talks on phone. An older grey-haired man in the best of the 3 studios, and also it's fairly roomy with lots of counter space. He cues up reel-to-reel tape. He picks up some papers, organizes them. These make it look like he is a news reader. He takes a last drag on a cigarette then goes into a flurry of activity playing various promos intros etc. Pull back as he gives cue through window to man in another studio. Then he continues looking over his papers. (On one of the papers if you look closely can see the call letters WYZE; there is a station in Atlanta, Georgia with those calls.) | |
