| Description: | Same as catalog # 491117 The New Empire Review presents:- Douglas Byng - the Celebrated West-end Comedian. And Roy Fox and his Band. (Millions have heard 'Roy' on the air - here he is on the screen.) (Filmed at the Monseigneur, London.) Midnight, and dancing feet and smart-frocked swaying forms proclaim the west-end is in full swing - London. Various shots of Roy Fox and His Band playing an upbeat, syncopated jazz tune on the bandstand at the Monseigneur nightclub. Popular crooner Al Bowlly is seen playing guitar in several shots. Elegant people dance to the music (no details as to what the tune is). A small gangplank is brought onto the bandstand; a bellboy walks down it, carrying a suitcase. He is followed by comedian Douglas Byng, carrying a wig and a feather boa. He bows to the applause, then introduces "a little song of Spring". He is helped into a dowager soprano costume by the bellboy, he puts on the boa and wig, then sings a funny song about Spring - 'Spring Is In The Air' - to yelps of laughter and applause from the audience. Brief cutaways show the diners sitting at tables watching the show. He is handed two sprigs of flowers by a man at the end of the song. | |
