| Description: | "DRAMA! Thirty years ago a story of a little child made our Grandparents weep and tear their hair. Today we bring this Soul-stirring epic to life again - so kindly get your hankies out in readiness, whilst we push on with the show. With commentary by LEONARD HENRY". To the jokey commentary by comedian Leonard Henry we see an old silent film about a well-to-do Victorian family who discover their baby dead in the cradle (he looks quite alive in fact!). The family is distraught and goes into mourning. Meanwhile, a poor woman with a child goes begging for food from workers digging in the garden of the family's house. They refuse and she walks off to leave the baby in a cabbage patch and runs off. The older daughter of the well-to-do family finds the child amongst the cabbages (she seems to know just where to look), takes it home to her overjoyed parents. They put it in the dead child's crib and embrace one another. (Victorian fashion) | |
