| Description: | DRILLING FOR NAPHTHA IN MORAVIA Deposits of naphtha are found in Moravia region, Czechoslovakia. Moravia, Czechoslovakia. Various shots of men working at naphtha well (rig) in Moravia. Several shots of naphtha gushing out of iron tube at the surface. Several men in suits watching with excitement. More shots of the pumping of naphtha from the well and tanks where the naphtha is stored. The old record states that this is the first blasting of naphtha well near Hodonin, Southern Moravia. Czech voiceover: "Near Hodonin in Southern Moravia are rich deposits of naphtha & natural gas. Geological examinations had been made here. We are witnessing the first blasting of the naphtha well. The torpedo is being sunk into iron tubes in the ground. It explodes in a depth of 1300m & thus opens a channel into the tubing. One well yields about 230 metric tons of naphtha in 24 hours." | |
