Duke of Edinburgh stands in his office rubbing his hands together as he speaks. As he cannot get to open this electrical fair in person he is making use of some of the products and of the electrical and electronic industry to open it this way.- i.e. on film. We see him in C/U speaking of how he remembers the building where the fair is to take place - an exhibition building where he and the Queen were frequently entertained during their visit. He speaks of the tremendous part electricity plays in the home. "It is my guess that we have not yet seen the half of the possibilities of electricity." He speaks of the radio, x-rays, milking machines and dairy factory equipment. He also speaks of the "Great Snowy River scheme." He states that he has the greatest admiration for the Australian Electrical Industry and he wishes it all good fortune for the future. He declares the exhibition open. | |
