Eisenhower sadly announces that John Foster Dulles has resigned as Secretary of State because, stricken with cancer, he is incapacitated for carrying on the administrative load of his office. In his drama-packed announcement the President said Mr. Dulles would continue to serve as foreign policy adviser. Mr. Eisenhower led the nation and the world in paying tribute to the seventy-one year old Mr. Dulles - his wisdom, his devotion and his courage. A truly great public figure.
