This segment pertains to the graduating class at the East Technical High School in Cleveland Ohio. The segment begins with a female African-American reporter on location. She talks about how the students are moving from their old school building and into a new one located directly across the street. As she is talking, you can see a constant stream of teens exiting the school and crossing the road. Camera pans to the students and focuses on certain individuals. The entire group consists of African-American teenagers. The first teen spotted by the camera enjoys his few seconds of stardom. He has a coat drapped over his shoulder and asks the camera "Hey, How ya feel'n". The next young man is wearing a black leather jacket, sunglasses and has an afro hair style. Behind him, there is a student that outdoes his predecessor in the afro department. This student wears a jean-jacket and tight white pants. Shot of an African-American man standing at a microphone. Shot of black female students standing listening to speaker. They hold school notebooks or papers in their arms. Shot of speaker from behind. You can see a large audience standing in front of the stage. The crowd is predominately African-American. Side view of African-American man in military uniform holding an American flag. Shot of student choir dressed in black robes singing. The choir director is seen in front of the group conducting. CU of three female choir members. Shot of three people in military uniform raising the American flag. Next, a photo opportunity ribbon breaking dedication ceremony. A male student with a huge grin on his face does the honors of cutting the ribbon. CU of a patch being held in reporter's hand. The patch reads "The New East Tech-1-May 30, 1972". Shot of the female reporter now standing in front of the new school. There are still students walking behind her.
