| Description: | EASTERN TOWN Beautiful stencil colour (or hand coloured) travelogue - probably Turkey or Greece (Actually it is not identified as Greece, but looks Greek to me!) with beautiful surreal - -and still bright--hand-stenciled color tinting.) Street scene. Bazaar or street market. Shops have canopies and goods hanging outside. Shot looking up narrow street between small shops like market stalls, with all sorts of wares displayed in front of shops under awnings; pedestrians. CU young boy c. age 10 shows a pair of shoes hanging from stall; he turns them round to show soles with a tread that looks like lots of little balls; some shoes hanging above these have big pompoms on them! MCU man in white tunic looks at some of these shoes. CU he holds shoe (which has shoe tree to hold its shape). MS well-dressed man in fancy red and gold jacket with embroidery on shoulders. MCU same man; he has waxed moustache CU his hands pulling beads back and forth- -not sure if these are prayer beads or if they are only decorative. MS 4 women pose facing camera in bright colored (thanks to the color tinting) skirts and scarves over their heads. MCU 2 young women wearing white head scarves, lots of gold necklaces; similar to Albanians, Armenians, Turkish etc. CU woman wearing dress with gold trip on shoulders, many gold coin necklaces, scarf looesly over head. 2 men wearing traditional white tunic w/ leather pouch around waist, wool coats over, scarves on heads tied in back. CU one of the men talking, takes a drink. CU man's pouch round his waist. MCU 3 young women in costumes as described. | |
