| Description: | ENDURANCE Dance marathon in America. The dance lasted 1176 hours "and the girls stuck it even better than the men - " CU of the legs of a dancing couple. She wears a fringed "flapper" style frock and shiny dancing shoes. MS of the dancing couples holding each other up, exhausted. A woman shifts the weight of her partner who is obviously becoming very heavy as he is draped over her body. Various shots of the dancers. girl in FG is draped over her partner and looks almost completely asleep. In the next shot it's the woman holding her partner up. Continues w/various shots of exhausted dancers, who wear names of sponsoring businesses on their backs - "Harrisburg Inn" , "Pete's Service Station." Mr. H. Inn stumbles and would fall if not for his sturdy partner who hoists him back up. Wider shot showing 5 remaining couples dancing on the gymnasium floor while a "referee" watches the last stages of the marathon. Another dance marathon shot which is either earlier in this one or another one altogether, since most the dancers look more energetic. A man reads from a piece of paper as two of the dancers stand in front of him. Other couples dance behind. | |
