	Description:	FAIRS FOR THE FAIR Fairs at Barnet and Nottingham. Great funfair footage - various rides, lots of girls having fun, eating ice cream etc. Also a nice look at women's fashion trends of the time. GV roundabout ride spinning, fair goers walk about in the foreground. MS people getting on and off train ride, small children are being helped down. Title Card: "Roundabouts-Flying Chairs-or Swings-Eve's There Every Time." MS miniature train w/real steam locomotive coming out of a tunnel and round the corner, young boys watch from the ground. MS riders seated in the ornate train cars, train says "Jervis's" on side. Great wide LS/GV people riding the "Flying Chairs" or "Chair Swings". MS two women laughing while riding on a carousel (Merry-Go-Round), their seat looks like a pig. MCU mother and small child riding the carousel together, the ladies from previous shot are seated next to them. MLS 2 young women in short skirts riding in a gondola swings, pan w/swing as it moves, women are smiling and enjoying themselves. Title Card: "A light interlude." LS/MS people riding a mini roller-coaster, it rolls up and down and in a circle. MS three young women seated on a goose as they go around on a carousel. MCU two women smiling and laughing as they sit on the giant peacock. MCU people smiling people as they rock back and forth on a caged ride. GV people riding a Swinging Ship. TLS carnival w/crowd of middle-class people in FG, various rides in BG. Title Card: "Down to Mother Earth-the grand slide." MCU two women and young girl in braids at the top of a slide, quickly get into position- -the woman in front grabs onto the legs of the woman in back and they slide away. There follows a series of crazy "jerkycam" shots of women sliding down; cameraman must have been on the slide right in front of them, the women are holding onto their skirts between their legs so that their Knickers aren't showing. Ends w/funny MS of three women arriving at the bottom of the slide and landing w/a bump in a tangle of legs, they are laughing as they disentangle themselves.
