Description:This segment is a staged conversation between a reporter, a self-proclaimed witch and her teenage witch-in-training daughter. This is obviously a little Halloween fun cooked up by the Channel Eight news team, nothing scary, just hokey. View of a woman with a fortune-teller look about her seated at a table. She has a black candle burning in front of her. She begins to speak: "Dig a deep hole in the earth, fill it with water, stir it steadily. If your hand tires and you can't keep stirring, get other people to stir it. And as long as somebody is stirring this water, the weather will be good". As she speaks, she makes stirring motions with her right hand. From off screen, reporter asks "Do you really believe that". Witch replies "Of course Neil". Camera pulls back to reveal the reporter seated next to the witch. Reporter mentions "The last few years I've been coming to see you each Halloween for your annual Halloween prediction, and everything. I just can't buy your curses and your things. You're a good witch right?" The witch replies with "Oh yes" and makes a comment about being a mother. Reporter states "I still get the feeling that I'm being put on by you every year". Witch responds "After I've made you disappear all these years?" Reporter asks what her trick will be this year. Witch introduces her daughter Octavia and states will be casting her first spell. Camera pulls back to reveal Octavia. The girl is dressed in black and stares in the direction of the reporter with a look of teenage angst. Reporter states "Octavia, fire away". Frontal view of Octavia from over reporter's shoulder. You can see the black candle burning in front of her. The girl begins to cast her first spell by reciting words like "Hechaid" and "Bombo". The girl has made a mistake and cast the wrong word. Her mother pipes in from off screen saying "Not Bombo, Bomba". Frontal view of reporter as the spell is being cast and corrected. A haze of smoke creeps in front of the screen. Girl finishes her spell from off screen by saying "You disappear". In the terrible attempt of performing a film trick, the reporter vanishes and is replaced by a plastic jack-o'-lantern head set atop a stick which is covered by the reporter's suit coat. Girl states with an unenthusiastic voice "Oh mom, I've goofed". Mom replies with a sigh "Two more months in witch's school".
