| Description: | FINANCIAL CONFERENCE Interallied Financial Conference held in Paris; January, 1925. Opens w/ shot of press photographers, newsreel cameramen & other journalist types hovering at the entrance to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Their wait was apparently worthwhile, because many of the delegates stop for a quick pose on their way in to the meeting. Intertitles identifying delegates are framed in a drawing of an oval-shaped mirror. MS US Secretary of State Frank B. Kellogg w/ another man. MLS Ion Bratianu; Rumanian prime minister (& virtual dictator) with NicolaeTitulescu (At this time Rumanian minister in London in between serving as min. of finance and min. of foreign affairs) & another diplomat. MLS Kikujiro Ishii Japan's ambassador to France stands smiling & saying something; then tips his hat on his way in. LS Winston Churchill; at that time Great Britain's chancellor of the Exchequer; walks into frame; stops & smiles at camera. Italy's minister of finance Alberto de Stefani also stops on his way in; Japanese ambassador Kikujiro Ishii is seen again coming back into building. A quick shot of Georges Theunis; premier of Belgium; w/ others. US Ambassador to France Myron T. Herrick gets out of automobile smiling broadly, tipping hat. CU Etienne Clementel; former French finance minister; who is serving as President of the Conference. | |
