| Description: | ON PREVIEW CASSETTE #98795 IV There are two films on this reel, both of which are instructional pieces for State Farm casualty insurance salesmen. The first opens with a MS of Howard B. Rust in his office talking to the camera (designated audience is insurance salesman convention). He babbles about the performance and profitability of home/fire/auto insurance. Cut to a model of a suburban home on a nearby office desk (white 2 story house w/ 2 car garage and 2 cars parked in front of it with a Mom and a Dad and 2 kids standing on the front lawn which is well manicured and features swell landscaping); there are CU's of the family figurines as well. Howard then welcomes Walter, an older gentleman with a big head and tiny eyeglasses, who chars about the nature of casualty insurance to a comatose camera. The second part of the film is a kaleidoscope of images (all still photos but rapid editing): insurance salesmen working at their desks, lotus leaves, suburban houses, palaces, crowds, doors, illustrations and graphics (keys, women, stop signs, "30th", "Dr. All", "auto", among others). The film sets up a pseudo-spy invasion by Dr. All and his insurance co. The film ends with two monatges, one of Las Vegas nightlife and the other of Montreal during daytime. There are two available prints but only one has both films on it (WPA 1463 has both while WPA 1463A has just "Fire Co. Hot Line" and is not in good condition). | |
