Cu pan port side boat; men standing on deck; masses of ropes. Cu workers on boat; one man pulls rope; basket of fish on the end; at same time another guy throws empty basket over. Shot (very dark; then decompos.) Floor covered with fish; men stand in bg. Brief shot ships on sea. On shore: cu man in long naval style coat & captain hat stands looking through spyglass; starts to walk toward cam. Cut to shot of clearing; with bushes; trees in bg; the man runs into scene; lifts spyglass again; runs off -- urgent. Back to boat; (decomp. Problems again) .Guy picking up sacks or clothes from floor - very dark. Ship's bow; pulley & ropes in fg; and many masts in bg; pan rt. To quay with men standing. Ships on sea; then another pan from boat to quay. Boats being towed in. Another view same. Man with spyglass on cliff; he looks through; takes a few steps; looks again. Cu man looking out from cliff; sea & beach below. He runs to a small signal gun and sets it off boom! cloud of smoke to signal a ship? danger; communication; warning repeat shot of looking through spyglass. Cu man speaks to camera. Finally; ds beach with leftover pieces of old broken up pier - dark poles stick out at crazy angles; small waves roll in. Industry; fishermen; safety. | |
