| Description: | FLOWERS THAT FADE NOT Making floral decorations for festive parties. Craft demonstration - making paper flowers, then amazing flower costumes are modelled by show girls. MS woman sits at table w/ a bunch of crinkly crepe paper and wire. CU woman cutting out "flower" from the paper. Putting a bunch of these pieces (which look sort of like many-pointed stars) on the wire; looks like chrysanthemum. CU woman rubs the crinkly "petals" to make them curly. Cont. CU shot: she next creates a paper daffodil. Then she takes darker paper (presumably green) and cuts long narrow leaves. MS woman arranging the paper flowers in a vase. A woman dressed up in a flower costume stepping out of a giant picture frame on a stage. A different flower lady follows, this one has her head hidden inside the flower part, and her body is supposed to represent the stem. MCU she opens up the flower petals and looks out, wearing a little crown w/ stamens sticking up. Back to LS; she too steps out of frame and walks off. Then back to the busy paper flower-maker. CU she winds dark yarn round several times in a circle, then cuts across it then attaches this to a wire stem w/ the yarn ends sticking up. She puts paper petals around the outside of the yarn, adds some small leaves and, voila, this time she's made a poppy. | |
