| Description: | "In the Tyrol. For Posterity. Gondola in which Prof. Piccard made record ascent (10 miles), hauled down mountainside on first stages of journey to National Museum in Brussels." Tyrol Mountains, Austria High in the snowcapped mountains. LS group of skiers are moving a Gondola from a balloon. The gondola is spherical and is being pulled by hand. Closer shot of the men moving the gondola. Men standing in front of gondola. One chap looks very groovy in his sunglasses - obviously it is very bright high up in the Tyrol. The gondola is maneuvered onto a sled. The skiers then begin to move it off across the snow. Several of the men are dressed in traditional Tyrollean clothing. The gondola is moved over a bridge crossing a mountain ravine. They slowly move down towards a village in the bottom of the valley. Note: There are two Piccards - Jean and Auguste. They are identical twins so it is possible to confuse them in some records. | |
