| Description: | Dull in contrast and imagery In Provence village of France, children dance the Tripettes around a water fountain or large well, in a 600 year old religious festival. A richly decorated steer with gilded hoofs becomes the sacrifice in the ceremony liken the end of ancient dispute between two villages. In the church at Barjols six centuries later all is forgotten as the bust of St. Marcel and religious relics were the objects of the feud is exhibited. While the controversy was being settled parish-nears of a neighboring village stole the relics but were intercepted by the men of Barjols. At the discussion it was decided that a dance and the roasting of an ox would serve the purpose. Suddenly St Marcel becomes the patron Saint of feasting and dancing.
