	Description:	FRENCH MOROCCAN CAMPAIGN Film from French Morroccan campaign to suppress rebel tribes who had established their own breakaway republic. In 1921; having won several military victories against Spain, the leader of the Riffian tribes, Abd el Krim, announced the establishment of a separate Rif Republic; this was mainly in the Spanish Zone of Morocco which had been divided in 1912 between Spain and France - - but the French also became involved in the campaign to pacify the rebel region - -which was not 'pacified' until 1926 Morrocco Extreme hi ang view French Army encampment at foot of mountains. LS (approx. ground level) tents scattered along bottom of hillside w/ scrubby foliage; a soldier comes out of nearest tent; a few other men & horses in BG. MLS 4 officers incl Marshall Louis Lyautey (the rather imperious looking one standing in ctr w/ big cloak worn over uniform, looking at cam and speaking) . LS camp (of the rebels??) , w/ group of horses near row of tents. LS unidentified man leads horse loaded with water & other supplies down hill. LS side view 2 Moroccan men walking up hillside, tents in BG. LS unidentified men walking around amongst rocks and brush nearest has dark uniform, fez hat and a very long white scarf. MLS pan on groups of rifles, packs etc.laid on ground; Moroccan man standing guard; French officer passes in FG. MLS French Artillery team. MLS Lyautey, General Henri Giraud & other officers again. LS from behind group of French officers standing on ridge. MLS from behind a few men crouched behind rocks (machine gun position and an officer watching action in BG (we can only see smoke). Title re "conquered positions." Shot panning on soldiers (both French and Spanish? Also Moroccans serving with French. standing around at a conquered position- - a sort of rock fort high up. Shots of Lyautey Giraud & other officers walk through inspecting the area. Last shot is these officers walking past in FG; w/ several Berber tribesmen standing on rock wall in BG.
