| Description: | French or Belgian troops resting. Location of events unknown - France or Belgium. Pan across a group of soldiers sitting on the ground in a field or forest clearing, eating something. Their rifles are stacked together, wigwam style. A soldier walks amongst them, cutting up bits of a Christmas pudding (with Union Jack flag on top - gift from Allies?) and handing it out. M/S of soldiers posing for camera, sitting on ground. One, standing at the back, balances a German helmet on their stacked rifles. Two men on the right take off their caps and put on paper hats. M/S of more soldiers, having paper hats put on their heads by their friends. One of them is the pudding-cutting soldier we saw earlier. He has the pudding on his lap and cuts a piece for the man beside him. Nice footage of soldiers celebrating Christmas - rather poignant. | |
