| Description: | FRIVOLITIES DE FRANCE A glimpse of acts in the revue show 'Frivolities de France' at the Prince of Wales Theatre. A topical peep at "FRIVOLITIES DE FRANCE" at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London. At the Prince of Wales Theatre we see a line of chorus girls doing a tap dance routine; the painted scenery curtain behind them shows the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Acrobat Masu balances on his hands on some chairs, then walks off stage on his hands. Comedian / actor Naunton Wayne, the compere of the show, tells a story about thinking he'd proposed to his girlfriend, but not being able to remember whether she said yes or no. Canadian novelty acrobatic act, Allan, Allan and Allan do some balancing and tumbling tricks, wearing suits. Then an excerpt of a bizarre musical number, 'Love in a Cottage', where we see just the legs of chorus girls sticking out of the 'lawn', ringing bells on their ankles to pick out the melody - strange! Adagio dancers Latasha and Laurence are seen in a brief excerpt from their act - very skimpy costumes. The finale shows girls coming down a long stairway in filmy dresses over bras and knickers, and others in top hats and black and white costumes, all singing along with Bernard Clifton (just seen in the foreground). | |
