| Description: | FROM AD 16 TO AD 19 An elaborate model of Cheapside in 1616 is compared to how the area looks in 1929. Mr John B. Thorp has made a replica of Cheapside during the Lord Mayors Show of A.D. 1616. London MS elderly man opens checked curtains to reveal a miniature scene w/ buildings in style of 1600s and figures in appropriate costumes standing along the street and at the windows. We see the model maker placing tiny figures inside windows. Part of the model moves - a parade of people and floats. Closer shot of same, w/ a miniature recreation of the Lord Mayor's Parade rolling past the houses. Continues w/ CUs & MCUs of the miniature "floats", horses & riders, etc. A model of "Gog and Magog" glides past. Horses and other figures move in front of timbered houses. Various views of various model floats and figures. Very cute. Dissolve to real London street scene. Horse drawn buses and carriages going down street of small shops. Good travelling shot of man sitting on top of a brewers dray - the name Worthington just visible. Bus follows behind. | |
