| Description: | GADGETS! Handy household novelties. Various inventions are demonstrated including an egg timer, floor polisher, special saucepan. United Kingdom First, an egg timer that rings a bell. CU woman's hand holding 3-minute (?) timer (mini-hourglass) next to a round bell attached to the wall. She places the timer in a metal arm sticking up above the bell. When most of the sand has sifted into the bottom half, this changes the balance and the timer swings down and bangs against the bell. Next, a floor-polisher. MCU woman holding the polisher upside down so one can see the 3 rings of brushes or rubber teeth. She turns it on so that the rings spin around. MS she puts polish on the rings. MS woman using the machine to polish the floor; shot is aimed downward & all that is seen of the woman is her legs & skirt. Next a mirror w/ suction cup on the back. MCU woman breathes on the suction cup then sticks the mirror on the wall and looks in it while she powders her face. The next handy gadget is a saucepan w/ strainer attached. MCU woman holding the pot; she removes the lid, revealing a built-in strainer. She pours water out through the strainer. Another person holds a platter while she flips up the strainer on its hinge and dumps boiled potatos onto the platter. Title says that the Queen found this one particularly impressive.
