Heinz Wittmer, or Arthur Wittmer, with his wife Margarita, their 14 year old son Harry and baby. Shot of Dr. Friedrich Ritter, who left his wife in Germany, and came to Galapagos with his mistress Dore Strauch (though the commentary seems to use a different name). Shots of her carrying a spear and addressing the camera. Shots of Rudolf Lorenz, identified as Alfred Lorenz, assisting the loading of a pack animal, then feeding a donkey. Ritter can be seen on the left. Shots of his companions Austrian "Baroness" Wagner de Bosquet and another man, identified as Robert Philippson. Lorenz, Philippson, and Felipe Valdiviseo followed the Baroness to the island after the other two groups. According to the commentary, after a quarrel with Lorenz, Philippson and the Baroness disappeared [they were never found]. Lorenz was found dead on Marchena, in the north of the island group, with the captain of the boat on which he was trying to escape. Ritter died shortly after of a mysterious food poisoning. | |
