| Description: | Weird Costume contest at fair or "garden fete". Groups of mostly women in costumes walk toward camera. They are divided into "Classes"; but seemingly without reason. Some represent different countries; USA in stars & stripes; Japan with parasol & fan; fidgeting with kimono. "Class 2" more wacky outfits -- the first a dress with pieces of paper stuck all over it - maybe newspaper cuttings. Then "Justice" with blindfold and scales; a woman in a nightgown with naval emblems; a clown; etc. Class 3 is led off by another woman in Japanese outfit; this one in scandalous shorts! Some period costumes; - hoop skirts; a medeival cone-shaped hat. Others maybe stories or fairy tales - a fairy godmother; a woman dressed like Robin Hood; but with spider webs hanging from her sleeves when she spreads her arms. Some fairly ornate fabrics & costumes. Also cross-dressing both ways. 4 completely bizarre psychedelic hallucinations. Then some blackfaced minstrels leading a collection of ethnic exaggerations and acid-trip fantasies. A woman in a cart pulled by miniature ponies. Baby bassinet starts off the Children; some led by parents or nurses. Some miniature wounded soldiers - and a tiny nurse; Red Riding Hood; etc. tiny minstrels - learn your racism early! Contestants stand in row. Shot of some spectators in "Normal" clothes. Fairy Godmother & Gypsy each step up to lady who writes something down - maybe they are winners?
