| Description: | Bernie Howard TV commercial for aerosol garlic flavoring. Great kitsch, 1950s housewife in the kitchen. Good example of selling "convenience foods". CU int. kitchen, woman's hands peeling onion. Zoom out to full shot of woman in kitchen, VO: "Stop! You don't have to peel that onion!" Woman looks surprise/confused. Diss. to shot of 4 aerosol cans "Taste Tap". 4 different flavors of spray flavoring. A finger presses the nozzle on each can releasing a little cloud from each - garlic, onion, hickory and of course, meat tenderizer. CU woman with a huge loaf of bread sliced most of the way through - she holds apart each slice and sprays garlic flavor spray between the slice - (and everywhere else too) - Garlic bread!. CU huge salad bowl - woman sprays garlic flavor all over the salad. CU her hand pushing her cutting board full of onions off to the side and replacing it with a bottle of "Taste Tap Spray o' Garlic" MS woman draw her hands to her face and gleefully smells them - no odor! More shots of spraying food, soup on the stove, burgers on the grill, ridiculously huge slab of meat (steak, prime rib?) is sprayed with meat tenderizer as woman pokes it with a fork. Shot of 4 cans again. | |
