He gives the money for the construction and maintenance of a fighter squadron for the RAF to be called the Burma Squadron. MS Sir Christopher Courtney temporary Air Marshall receives the cheque on behalf of the RAF. He thanks the people of Burma for the gift and says that the squadron will have the peacock of Burma on its side. He also receives gifts of teak and cedar for the squadron's mess room. | |
