| Description: | GLUSBURN'S FLORAL Horticultural and Athletic Society's Athletic Festival. Crosshills ( Crossmills ). M/S of three men competing in a short sprint, we see them as they come to the finishing line, three judges with note books officiate. On the far side of the track ( in fact part of a field) is a crowd of spectators, behind them are several marquees. One of the men falls to the ground as he finishes the race, the other competitors and judges rush to help him. L/S of another race with more contestants running longer distances - one of the competitors only has one arm ( a disability from the war? ). C/U of the winner - he is out of breath but manages to smile for the camera. M/S of athletes leaping over a hurdle, in the background spectators watch in front of a marquee. M/S of the athletes scrambling under a net. For the next stage of the obstacle race the men have to climb up ropes and pole vault over the wooden frame to the other side - one competitor has great difficulty doing this. M/S of a sack race. C/U of one of the winners. | |
