| Description: | Master 60 Part 1 Same as catalog # 17969 "GOOD CHEER ALL ROUND". Various shots of the huge Christmas tree in Trafalgar Square, London, lit up. Norwegian girls in traditional dress hold hands and sing as they walk round the Christmas tree. At Gatwick Airport we see pilot Douglas Myres dressed as Father Christmas getting into a helicopter. Douglas takes off in the 'copter and flies off across the countryside. Children at the Pestalozzi Village (for refugee children) near Battle in East Sussex look skywards, waiting for the copter to arrive. The chopper comes in to land. Douglas gets out and waves. The children wave back. Santa Claus hands out presents to the children. At Harlow Youth Club in Essex we see various shots of teenagers taking part in a Christmas pudding eating contest. Teenagers wearing party hats sit at tables and are served with Christmas pudding. Several shots of the children eating rapidly (or slowly, in some cases) and asking for second helpings. Speeded up footage of a boy gobbling away. A boy mops his brow. Another boy is seen with blown out stomach (looks like a cushion under the jumper). 14-year-old winner Alan Grout is lifted up by two other boys. Alan is holding a trophy cup and the others applaud. He is offered another spoonful of Christmas pudding but makes a face and turns his head away. | |
