| Description: | In the early morning hours of the 13th day of the long, long walk has ended. New York's wheels are turning once again as Mayor John Lindsay announces the agreement to end the transit strike. 6,000 busses are back on the streets and more than 270 miles of subway rails are ringing once more. President Johnson, in a surprise press conference, denounced the settlement of from $50 to $70 million dollars as "against the national interest". He thought the raise too great. But, for the moment, New Yorkers don't tote up the cost: They're too happy to back - strap-hanging! Just before day-break the sky line of New York City, lights on in the buildings.
