| Description: | Preview Cassette # 97574 This footage seems to consist of two separate types of demonstrations. The first appears to a labor strike, the second appears to be an anti-war protest. Maybe the two are related somehow. In any case, this footage captures demonstrators going to the extreme in order to get their message across. Footage can be used for any sort of radical protest. Segment begins with a CU of a sign that reads "Gould". Demonstrators are gather on the lawn in front of the Gould Building. This is the group that appears to be on a labor strike. CU of the demonstrators' signs that read "UAW-ON STRIKE-FOR INCREASED PENSIONS". Shot of a group of African-American men and woman gathered at the demonstration. Shot of semi-truck in the road being stopped by demonstrators. A young man can be seen having words with the driver of the truck. Different angle of the front of the truck as it passes demonstrators. Now the extremists come into the picture... Several men and women run in front of the semi-truck. They are pushed up against the truck as if trying to stop it from moving. Their backs are up against the bumper. The truck is moving slowly so the group can keep up. An angry police officer comes into the picture and literally tears a woman from the bumper of the truck. Next he grabs a man. The truck is now picking up speed as the police officer tries to unlodge another woman. This lady is not moving and puts up a brief fight. Shot of demonstrators running in front of truck, still trying to stop it as the momentum of the truck increases. The group finally gets out of the way and the truck cruises down the street. Now for a different group of demonstrators. This group appears to be holding an anti-war protest. They are located in front of a chain link fence where security has also gathered. Shot of the trunk of a police vehicle. Police car driving past the group. CU of bloody hands. Camera pulls back to reveal that the bloody hands belong to one female protesters that was trying to stop the moving truck. Group of reporters surround the girl. She speaks of her injury and blames it on the fact that the truck wouldn't stop. | |
