| Description: | "Newtown Forbes, Ireland. Great Scottish & Irish Houses Unite. Earl of Dumefries - son & heir of Marquis of Bute - weds Lady Eileen Forbes, daughter of the Earl of Granard - at the little Parish Church of Clonguish." Clonguish, Newtown Forbes, Eire, Southern Ireland, Republic of Ireland. Exterior of small church, crowds are gathered to watch the couple arrive. Car decorated with white ribbon drives through crowd lined streets to arrive at the church. The bride, Lady Eileen Forbes, 22 - wearing a lovely white dress - gets out of the car. She is accompanied by her father, the Earl of Granard. The crowds have to be held back by police. The bride and groom, the Earl of Dumfries, come out of the church. They are getting into a car. The Groom is wearing a tartan kilt. The voiceover comments on the large number of men in the crowd. Apparently 12 priests officiated at the wedding and there was a special blessing from the Pope. Exterior of Castle Forbes - the ancestral home of the Granards - a very attractive Castle / Stately home. The bride walks along a line up - shaking hands with ever member of the tenantry of the estate. Nice shot of the wedding party. CU Bride and groom. | |
