| Description: | GRINDING CORN Educational film showing processes involved in grinding corn. Combine harvester. C/U of the rotor blades and of the stems of the crop dropping out of the back. Grain pours from a chute into a large vat. "The grain comes to the mill to be ground." At the mill sacks of grain are transported by winch and barrow. The grain is poured into a cellar then transported by a large screw mechanism on to a metal gauze through which the smaller grains drop through. A man pulls handfuls of grains out of a pile which comes out of a pipe. "The millstone is prepared." A man uses a metal tool to make the millstone rough. "The grain is ground on the millstones." We see the grain pass through various machines into a barrel which presumably contains the millstone. "The flour is sifted." More processes are shown involving various machines. A sack is attached to a pipe and filled with flour. C/U of worker. The sack is lifted on to scales. C/U of man taking handfuls of the flour and dropping them back into the sack. | |
