Opens with shot of some men walking toward camera; down wooden ramp; audience in bg. Cu 2 men; one fat in straw hat; striped tie; other man wearing big pendant a la lord mayor of something; pointing; speaking. These & 2 more get in small boat; take off. Cute funny stuff of kids running out on pole stretching over river; then falling in the water (4 different boys) suspension bridge in bg. Boy in water with paddle or oar; propelling himself backward; must be floating on something under surface. Contest with 2 boys; (wearing the dark shorts & shirt look of swimsuit) sitting on the pole over the river; hitting each other with inflated balls on ropes; trying to knock each other off. Boat goes by; with people sitting under canopy. One boy slips under pole; climbs back. Another boat passes; a long canoe rowed by group of young men (crew). Next; another pair of boys engaged in same competition: one kid is hanging on by his arms while the other kid who seems to be a bully is scooting after him; still hitting!. Boat with a few people on an outing slows down to watch. Finally the bully kid ends up in the water. Shot of other kid sitting on pole as another boat with pennants; awning; goes by. Audience in seats on side of river; some on balcony and roof. Pan up river; showing more audience; another boat. | |
