| Description: | HELP YOURSELF Automatic cafeteria opens in London. Great self service restaurant serving all sorts of strange food for the busy person. London "The automatic help-yourself restaurant has arrived in London. Just put your money in the slot and Presto! You're off!" MS young woman wearing coat and hat, carrying purse, approaches and stops at machine in FG. A few men standing in BG. CU she picks up a glass, places it upside down in a round depression on a narrow shelf, presses it down and water rushes up to rinse the glass. She sets glass under a spigot. MS woman takes coin from purse, inserts coin in slot of machine. MCU she holds glass while beverage pours into it, then she takes a sip. MCU woman inserts money in another machine, which has various food items displayed. CU through glass front of machine, one can see a round tray divided into wedges with a serving on each one, and a slot in front, w/ sign above it: "Herrings in Aspic". The tray rotates, until one of the servings is lined up with the opening. Woman removes her herrings on a wedge-shaped plate. Another machine is shown, choices are "Anchovy" or "Pressed Beef". MCU woman inserts coin into a machine of a different type - a vertical glass tube with plates on a tower of shelves and a serving of "Pressed Beef" is lowered into opening at the bottom. MCU woman sits at counter enjoying her lunch, eating her sandwich. She smiles at the camera. "Pay your money and take your choice! (What a blessing this would be at home!)" CU another vertical machine with servings of squarish slabs with lemon slices on them, and the identifying sign "Cods Roe" sandwiches with a slot for the price of 6d. Similar CUs of "Fruit Salad & Cream", "Hors d'Oeuvres" (possibly some sort of salad?), "Anchovy" (in a sandwich), "Smoked Salmon", "Caviare". C/U of a hand taking an open caviar sandwich (served spread on toast w/ a lemon slice on top) out of a machine. CU rotating machine turns; man takes a serving of Potato Salad from the wedge-shaped slot. C/U of woman putting money into the slot of the "Fruit Salad & Cream" machine and the desert being dispensed.
