| Description: | Neither snow, sleet, rain, nor the mud below can put a damper on European motorcycle races. At this West German meet, it's hard to tell who has the most misguided fortitude--drivers who fumble through thick mud or the spectators who come away plastered. MS motorcycle racer in protective gear, goggles, Teutonic eagle crest on chest. Great CU motorcycle wheel spinning in mud at start of race, zipping out of frame. Panning TLSs - motorcycle race, riders kicking up mud onto spectators in stands, one man using umbrella to protect himself from the earthy spray. Funny wide MS front row crowd rising from behind barrier fence after racers have passed (ducking to avoids getting hit with mud, the ladies looking particularly skittish). Great panning TLS riders passing spectator stands, numerous umbrellas tilted toward racetrack to block mud spray. MS audience, cowering from mud, two white men ducking behind barrier. MSs - riders on turns, spewing mud. MSs - two white male spectators hiding behind plastic cover as though this were a Gallagher concert, mud spraying on sheet. Panning TLSs - muddy racers on muddy track. TLS rider in mid-accident, tumbling from motorcycle. MS mud being dredged from track between races. Panning TLS start of five mile motorcycle sidecar race, one competitor flipping cycle, crashing to ground. MS young man with mud on his face watching race, woman standing next to him holding umbrella, wearing scarf on head. TLSs - motorcycle & sidecar race. | |
