Description:The nation rewards its heros. At the White House President Johnson congratulates Major Virgil Grissom as he awards him the Space Agency's Distinguished Service Medal, the second such medal the Major has received. Then Lt.-commander John Young receives his reward for the epoch-making Gemini flight that opened a new era in Space. Later, the Astronauts go to the Capitol for luncheon with Congressmen. After a week-end of rest, a rousing reception in New York. Despite chill winds and rain, Gotham roars a welcome to the Space hero's as hundreds of thousands, (umbrellas aloft), hail the Heavenly Twins.
