Appears to be a family's proud document of a young man's dental practice in Chicago. WS exterior house, Chicago street scene, residential street, new 1933 or 1934 Ford pulls up in front of Dr. Rux's house 5730 W. Huron, Chicago, IL (according to the box and the number on the front of the house). Shaky camera but nice images. Man gets out of car, dog jumps around his feet as he approaches stairs of house. Camera pans street of fashionable Chicago bungalows and other buildings. Exterior of Dr. Rux's (Dentist) office sign in window of home. Family plays with dogs outside. MS small dog runs away. LS woman walks down sidewalk (filmed and/or transferred at wrong speed - way too fast). LS man goes into a different office of his (name and 'DENTIST" sign on door) Cam tilts up to 2nd floor office window advertising dentistry services. Includes awning and signage for ground floor business, "Noble Tea Store, Quality Market". Cam pans down the street. LS man Walking into "Betty's Gift Shop" large awning, tilt's up to dentist signs in 2nd floor window again, down to man walking on the sidewalk by his car. Woman steps out of Myrtle's Beauty Shop. She's in a white beautician's coat. VS shaky cam. Pans the street a couple more times, including a shoe shop, Betty's Gift shop and some good automobile traffic. Cu man, a middle aged man in glasses and cloth cap. MS two women walk out of the home on Huron, fashionably dressed in fur trimmed coat. Old-fashioned elderly couple walk out of the house - the woman in long black dress and hair in a bun, wire glasses. Stereotype. They go back in the house. Cars behind apartment building (Model A Ford, 1929 Chevrolet). A young man (Dr. Rux) poses with them. Pan to other cars. Ext LS Chicago business street. Large old unidentified buildings, cars on street. LS to CU Dr. Rux approaches the camera in a white coat. | |
