Description:04:01:10:- MS of a young man, wearing green t-shirt and green sweatpants, sitting on the front ledge, looking wistfully in all directions. Several MS's of laundry hung out to dry off second floor verandas, patios and wind ornaments. Low angle MS of one of the buildings, this time face-on from the street, tilt D to a level shot of same, more people visible.

04:02:14:- MS of a small apartment off of the main building; a woman and her two children stand or sit outside the front door. Cut to a tight MS of the children: a young boy of about 7 years old and a girl of about 12: they sit around. Cut to a MS of the mother, pan right/tilt down to the children.

04:02:49:- MS of two men, one in his late twenties, the other in his forties or fifties, standing on a veranda, talking.
04:03:02:- CU of aforementioned young boy; he's dirty and disheveled, a developing scab proudly on his forehead, his lips pursed tightly into a peculiar angle; kid stares obstinately into camera, then looks away; repeat the rope a dope. Camera zooms to ECU of his face. MS of the mother and her two kids, in same place, but the camera's moved in. CU interview of the woman as she talks to an off-screen producer; in Spanish, something about her and her five kids.

04:04:36:- MS, interior of the woman's home, of her husband repairing an ancient gas stove. Good CU's of his hands and the stove, followed by good CU's of the husband, a muscular and wiry and shirtless gent in his 50's; wears glasses and a greasy baseball cap. Good low angle CU's of the stove being worked on.

04:05:06:- CU's of sketches & paintings & photographs & engravings & flags displayed in the house, perhaps the works of the husband or wife; best described as Outsider Art. Followed by some interesting modern day still-lifes, in CU, of radios and everyday objects surrounding them (soda cans, small statues of owls and Buddhas). CU of an old portable radio. Panning (L) MS of aforementioned objects and artworks inside the house, 2 residents standing for the camera.

04:05:56:- CU of a young, beautiful woman, talking to a friend off-screen, occasionally looking up a stone stairway. CU of her friend, mirroring the other. MS of the stone stairway which leads to the house after a short run; the girls are gone but folks hang off the patios and verandas; the girls enter frame R and walk up the stairs. Dirty camera lens.

04:07:12:- INT house. MS, looking down a decorated stairwell and through a series of black metal bars. The 2 women from the last shot walk up the stairs. They are wearing very similar clothes, look alike as well; could be candidates for the Doublemint Gum market in Cuba, says my vote.

04:07:31:- great perspective/ dof shot of a hallway inside the house: MS of a young man and woman leaning against an open window sill while an old woman smiles at them from a darkened doorway at the end of the hall. Enter the Doublemint twins again as they walk the line. Shot several times from various angles and tight framing.

04:08:29:- INT house. MS of a woman scrubbing clothes in a kitchen (note the girlie calandar hanging in BG). She handwashes whites in a very small tub. Pan L to see rest of sad kitchen. CU of her scrubbing in sink: CU of her hands, CU of her face as she works. MS of kitchen corner; lady walks in to check on contents of pot on stove (spoons and stirs); shot several times and from several angles.

04:10:45:- MS of a hazy, dusky room; Spartan furnishing and decor, nothing but a lumpy queen size bed on which rests a couple of pillows and a banana yellow blanket. A woman enters, takes clothes lying on a pillow. Cut to CU of two pairs of shoes on the floor (sandals and dock shoes). ECU of the dock shoes. ECU of several perfume bottles on a glass shelf. ECU of a motionless fan, no head or cage protector, the blades green and seemingly made of aloe branches (yep, pretty sure the blades are ecologically fashioned).

04:11:25:- good CU of a woman, inside home, laughing and talking to someone off-screen; she wears an American flag patterned babushka wrap (could be Puerto Rican, though). MS of the woman and two other housewives talking inside a decrepit kitchen. MS and CU of the headwrap lady opening the fridge, pulling a bottle of water from it. MS of the headwrap lady in a bedroom, making the bed, folding sheets; a large bed with crooked frame, no furniture, holes and rips in the green plaster ceiling; nice late afternoon light slipping through an open window.

04:13:14:- great high angle MS of the headwrap lady lighting the burner of an old gas stove while talking to folks also in the kitchen; a cluttered and dirty room, a few pots and pans and barrels of water. Boisterous happy woman, always quick with a laugh.

04:14:33:- INT house, interview, in CU, a female resident of the house, regarding the poor living conditions; strong words and an even stronger gaze; after speech, those in the room whoop and holler, approving of speech.
04:15:20:- INT house; interview, in CU, a male resident of the house; a parolee, probably talking about the poor living conditions. Cut to a CU of an illustration of two orange blobs having sex doggie-style, the phrase "Te juro que asi es..." written above it.
