| Description: | HOW TO BECOME A VILLAIN - A DEMONSTRATION IN "MAKING UP" Demonstration of how an actor uses make-up to transform himself into a villain. Actor in a dressing gown sits down at make-up mirror in dressing room. CU the tools of the theatrical make-up trade laid out on the table - greasepaint sticks, wig, other hair, scissors, spirit gum, etc. etc. Shot looking over actor's shoulder at his face in the mirror. He starts to apply make-up, blending the base w/ fingers. CU He draws dark lines to emphasize wrinkles. Then he applies gum to sides of his face & glues on bushy sideburns. A moustache is attached in same manner. Dissolve to more advanced stage - know he has a wispy beard & bushy eyebrows as well. He puts on wig & arranges it, directing a malevolent stare toward what must be the mirror. MLS from behind the actor as he stands up from the make-up table; somehow his clothes have also metamorphosed into 1800s period costume. Manservant hands him hat and cane and he exits. CU the "villain" glaring w/ evil intent, says something that must be a threat or curse. | |
