| Description: | HUSH DON'T WAKE THE BOBBY Early comedy film. France A policemen stretches out on a bench for a nap while his partner stands guard. The partner tries to prevent passers-by from making noise and waking up his friend. A street musician w/ accordian; a shouting hawker with vegetable cart. A marching band (in this case the waking partner jumps on the bass drum player & sends the whole band running away); a horse pulling a wagon. Then a group of soldiers march up and when the policeman tells them not to march past; they decide to make camp there; setting up Army tent & several of them taking naps as well. But.... then it's time to wake the sleeping cop; and his partner can't manage it. He throws things; shakes him; etc. & then tries to get everyone to make as much noise as possible. Film ends w/ him still trying to wake his buddy. Slapstick; mime; silly; wacky; funny. | |
