| Description: | Inferno! Every now and again Mother Earth rends man and his puny works with some mighty convulsion - and this is what happens when the Earth 'goes mad'. Excellent material showing houses destroyed in the path of slow moving lava when Mount Etna erupts. People seen evacuating the area etc. Mount Etna, Sicily, Italy. Various shots of Mount Etna erupting. Huge clouds of steam rise from the earth; molten lava drifts down the slope of the mountain. Hot rocks roll down to the foot of the mountain. Several shots of people living in the village at the foot of the mountain packing up their belongings and taking tiles off the roofs of their houses before the huge mass of lava demolishes them. We see a crowd of people getting on a train to escape the lava; the town end of the railway track is already under a massive mound of lava. Some people standing with policemen (?) watch the lava flow tearing down the few remaining buildings as it moves onwards. | |
