| Description: | INSULL DEFNEDS HIMSELF Mr Insull defends himself against attacks on his honesty and business practices. Mr Samuel Insull appears to have had problems with his business dealings. His holding company collapsed during the Great Depression, wiping out the life savings of 600,000 shareholders. This led to the enactment of the Public Utility Holding Company Act of 1935. United States of America. A crowd gather outside a court building. Pressmen take photographs of a man with a white moustache. The man is then seen getting into a taxi. CU of elderly man (presumably Mr Insull) and another man. Mr Insull speaks to camera - he talks of arriving in America with nothing but $200 and a promise of a job with Thomas A Edison. He says that he did everything he could to save the investors in his company. "I was not dishonest". Nice CU. He wears pincz nez glasses (spectacles) | |
