Description:18:00:37:- MS interview with Dr. David Yager, an entymologist specializing in the praying mantis. Conducted by Mike Lukas, TV host and comedian, inside the doctor's laboratory. They talk about, well, praying mantises and insects: the legend of the female praying mantis (does she mate with, then tear the male's head off?). CU's of a green female Southeast Asian Praying Mantis; Dr. Yager takes her from a plastic container and places it on his hand, then onto Mike. CU's of a brown female Southeast Asian Praying Mantis, taken from a plastic container and placed in Mike's hand; this one is particularly ornery, not in a good mood. Yes, the female of the species are characteristically moody. They also discuss the extraordinary hearing power of the praying mantis and its predatory habits.

18:19:29:- CU's of a green, female Southeast Asian Praying Mantis standing very still on a thin steel grate (grate not visible, not within frame). Some good moments of the mantis staring into the camera. Some good moments of the mantis stretching its lanky arms in the air in a defensive mode. Good ECU's of the mantis' head. Cut to more CU's of the mantis against a blue background; they antagonize it to do the defensive dance again. High angle CU of the mantis on a blue BG, almost shadow-boxing with itself.

18:25:22:- CU of Mike's bald head as Dr. Yager places a green SE Asian Praying Mantis on it; zoom out to MS as Mike cracks jokes, then continues interview, asking Dr. Yager what he likes about his job, etc. Zoom in to CU of the mantis (still on Mike's head); ECU of Mike's tireless, blue eyes; ECU of the mantis' head. MS of Mike cracking jokes again.

18:28:46:- CU's of color photos of cockroaches, praying mantises, etc. CU's of a sign on a door, reads, "Chez Mantis"; zoom in and out of sign, including two takes of Mike popping into frame and prtending to be a scary maitre d' by saying, with eyes wide and unblinking, "Table for how many?" Cut to more color photo CU's of bugs. Zooming CU's of a 1950's movie poster for the great shlock horror/sci-fi flick, "The Deadly Mantis".

18:31:24:- CU's of a contained cockroach colony. NOTE: THERE IS MORE FOOTAGE OF THIS ON THE ORIGINAL MASTER THAT COULDN'T QUITE FIT ONTO THE 3/4" PREVIEW CASSETTE. PLEASE INQUIRE AND SPECIFY.
