Wing Commander Twist, record breaking pilot, answering interviewers questions on how it feels and what preparations are necessary for high speed flight. "Well we've been doing this flying at around these speeds now for a some weeks... interrupted. MS Twist, Gordon Slade and interviewer: Question: "What is it like to fly at this fantastic speed of over 1100 miles per hour". Twist answers: "Well, we've been leading up to it for some weeks now, one doesn't get a great impression of speed at the height we're travelling up, but we know from the instruments we are going very fast indeed. We also realise from the ground plots which are being passed to us to position ourselves that the ground is going along beneath us at a remarkable rate." CU Twist is asked what the sensation is like of travelling at such speed, he replies that the temperature builds up with the speed. He adds that it is not quite true that they are the fastest flyers, the Americans have flown faster in the rocket aircraft, but the British are ahead in the jet driven aircraft. "On these particular records we had a very close tolerance to keep to on our height keeping, that was undoubtedly my biggest problem". He answers further questions.
