| Description: | INTO BRAZIL'S JUNGLELAND (NO: 2) Brazil, South America. "Flying over tropical country, the Matto Grasso Expedition penetrates the interior of the strange land where many Explorers have vanished." L/S of provisions being loaded onto a flying-boat. Closer shot as a small dog is handed over to be taken on board. M/S of two men standing on the flying-boat winding up the propellers. The aircraft begins to move away. L/S of it moving along the water then taking off. "Rare armadillos, and many others of Nature's queer jokes, were obtained - " M/S of a wooden crate being moved aside to show an armadillo. The armadillo tries to burrow into the ground, one of the men grabs it by the tail. The men laugh at the poor little thing who is obviously quite distressed. Another armadillo is held in a man's hand upside down. It struggles. The armadillo rolls itself up into a ball: "Airtight!" observes the narrator. L/S of three armadillos scuttling around. C/U of a man (probably David Newell seen in first episode of this series) holding a bat out by its wings. Looks a bit cruel. He says "This repulsive creature flew into our bedroom last night...None of the Indians here seem to know what sort of a bat it is. Perhaps the scientists in the States can tell us." He holds the bat up to the light to show how transparent its wings are. They tease the bat with a stick saying "This fella's a cannibal too... in South America they call him a false vampire." C/U of the bat. Joke is made about how he should be called a Gigolo Bat. | |
