Before main title, Jerry (an anthropomorphic dog character) peeks out of curtain and says "Hold on a minute - I'm next." Drawing of cake w/ words "Many Happy Returns". MCU artist sits down at table; on table is a small easel w/ the cake drawing; he picks it up and looks. Title: "I never drew THAT!" CU the drawing transforms, changing into a picture of the Jerry character. Alternates between shots of the artist and the animated Jerry, having a conversation. Jerry asks for a gramaphone for his birthday. CU Jerry watches while artist's hand draws a gramaphone. Jerry walks over to it and winds the handle. ECU phonograph record w/ title "Let's All Go to Jerry-Co" (dog-trot). Record starts to spin, gramaphone arm moves and needle lowers onto the record. Animation: Jerry listening to music coming from gramaphone; he starts to dance. While Jerry dances, artist's hand reaches in and draws a stick figure dancing w/ him. Suddenly gramaphone explodes w/ a BANG, knocking dancers down. Jerry is mad but he hears the mail arrive and thinks it's birthday cards for him. One card only says What about that 5 bob I loaned you? The other is an advertisement for a fortune teller. Jerry decides to go. Continued next episode. | |
