| Description: | JERRY THE TROUBLESOME TYKE - HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY Cartoon of Jerry, the Troublesome Tyke. Animation featuring that naughty dog Jerry - this week he learns a lesson - stealing is bad! Jerry (anthropomorphic dog character) tries his hand (paw?) at burglary; lots of chase scenes. Cartoon begins w/ J. climbing out window of house, w/ bag of stolen loot. Almost immediately the he is spotted by police and chase begins. Cool shot of policeman tripping & doing a flip toward viewer. Jagged moving dark halo round the copÆs bald clown-like head shows pain. Stars flashing on black screen, shooting star, etc. More of Jerry running, then he climbs on a fence and falls on to train tracks! Cool shot looking toward front of locomotive, w/ J. hanging onto cow-catcher; moving train wheels and telegraph poles make it look like train is moving fast. Next changes to combination of animation and real film - shots from train looking forward along tracks, w/ cartoon Jerry in FG. When they head into tunnel, cool shot of black screen w/ vibrating question marks. More of this, then changes back to all animation for a head-on crash w/ another train. Jerry and train parts flying through air. J. lands, bag of loot lands beside him, he dumps it out, is joyous that jewels survived. Then a big piece of train falls and lands on both J. and the jewels. Ends w/ J. in hospital saying "Resolved - that I will never, never steal again!" | |
